This extra small 5/8 inch wide martingale has a maximum circumference of 13 inches.
For anyone who may be unfamiliar with martingale type collars, a martingale is a type of dog collar that provides more control over your dog without the choking effect of a slip collar. Martingale dog collars are also known as humane choke collars.
Unlike our wider handmade martingales, velvet is not available on our 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 inch wide martingales. Narrow Martingales without velvet are made with quality Jacquard ribbon applied to "light" nylon webbing, which is strong and yet allows both ribbon and webbing to be used with smaller hardware. All our martingales are adjustable, feature all metal hardware in a color (brass or nickel/chrome) that compliments the ribbon used, and are made with a fabric loop rather than the chains seen on many commercially available martingales.
Martingales must be large enough to go easily over the head, and are then made smaller to insure that the collar will not slip back over the head. Proper fit on a martingale requires that you be able to fit 2 fingers between the metal loops when D ring is pulled. The metal loops should not touch.
