About

Vanity Threads is headquartered in Snohomish, Washington, about 25 miles north of Seattle, and is dedicated to the memories of our first two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Raasa and Tsavo. Our inability to find anything Ridgeback, or at least anything that we wanted to bring home, was the impetus for the creation of Vanity Threads.

We lost our beloved Tsavo, a rescue dog, to bone cancer in late 2006. Raasa, our first Rhodesian, affectionately known as “Old Man” in his later years, recently went to the Rainbow Bridge at age 13+. There are still four Sieloff children, Rhodesian Ridgebacks Khani (Kah-nee) and Kya as well as their two adult bipedal siblings, Sarah and Joe.

Bruce is a former management consultant specializing in quality control and customer service. His first job out of college was as an industrial engineer in a commercial sewing factory that required that he learn about garment construction. Pat is a former long time medical paralegal for two major Seattle law firms and specialized in catastrophic personal injury cases. She has sewed since junior high school, making everything from curtains and drapes to formal gowns. In 1996, a new Pfaff sewing/embroidery machine allowed her to add machine embroidery to her list of sewing skills. The rest as they say is history.

The idea for Vanity Threads was born out of frustration with the “one size (one color and one design) fits all” and “that is all we have” approach of many manufacturers and retailers. Vanity Threads is about freedom – yours and ours. It has given us the freedom to do what we love – which is to create unique and custom wearable thread art on quality apparel and accessories for a broad variety of people with widely varying tastes and interests. At the same time, it gives our customers the freedom to chose their garment or accessory, their embroidery design(s) and/or their text message in their colors.

Unlike most commercial embroiders who only embroider the same design on dozens, hundreds or thousands of identical items, Vanity Threads has no minimums. While we can and have outfitted groups or teams in essentially identically embroidered garments, our primary goal is to offer our customers the opportunity to custom order 1 (or more) apparel or accessory item(s) with the design(s) and/or text of their choice in their color(s). Each item is a truly custom creation.

We pride ourselves on quality, attention to detail and personalized customer service. What can we sew for you?
